La Dame de Monte Carlo

This film is the second installation of Five Feminine Tragedies - an exploration of archetypical women in classical vocal music. La Dame de Monte Carlo is inspired by Francis Poulenc’s art song which uses text by Jean Cocteau. La Dame tells the mysterious story of her last wild night on earth, gambling her life away at the Monte Carlo casino.
